Julian Thurgood's video: The Bahamas Renaissance - 9 Feb 2019 - 45596 Bahamas - Lazonby and Appleby

To mark the return to action of LMS ‘Jubilee’ Class locomotive no. 45596 ‘Bahamas’, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, in collaboration with the Bahamas Locomotive Society, gave us the first mainline run of the locomotive since overhaul, from their terminus at Oxenhope for a journey over the Settle & Carlisle Railway to Carlisle and back. The tour is seen here rushing through Lazonby & Kirkoswald Station northbound, then stopping for a water break at Appleby on its return. The tour left Keighley late due to a tree on the line, but KWVR volunteers soon cleared it, and despite leaving 34 minutes late, arrived on time at Carlisle. The return trip was perfect time throughout.
