One hour of day time parking, between 8:30am and 4pm, will cost Rs 10 for two-wheelers and Rs 20 for cars. There will then be a premium between 4pm to 5am, when one hour will cost Rs 30 for two-wheelers and Rs 50 for cars. Construction work on the khau gully is over and it will be soon inaugurated. The street between NCC and Law Garden circle has been brightly lit and has special street markings and furtniture. “Every hour at Happy Street will cost you,” said AMC standing committee chairman Amul Bhatt. The newly renovated Law Garden food street has been designed to accommodate 446 two-wheelers and 35 cars on both sides of the road in the day. In the evening hours, as food handcarts take their spots, the parking slots will halved to 221 two-wheelers and 21 cars. “As there will be limited space in the evenings, parking rates will more than double,” said Bhatt. When the number of visitors increase at the ‘Happy Street’, new localized parking plans will be put in place. In all there is space for 42 food vans, from evening to dawn, spread over a 300 metre stretch. According to AMC. There will be 31 big stalls which have been let at a price of Rs 1.67 lakh per month. A senior AMC official told TOI that the 11 small stalls were let for a price of Rs 90,000 per month. For the remaining two small stalls, the highest bids were Rs 73,000 per month.
