Kenton Park's video: Gateway Worship - The LORD Reigns Bass Cover

I don't know much about Gateway Worship, but this song definitely draws me in. I cannot listen to it let alone play it without rocking it out. The hype is real, as a group of people declare the glory of the Lord's kingship. I love everything about this song, musically and lyrically. I love the arpeggiation in the guitar/strings during the interlude, the C/E chord in the choruses and interlude, the string arrangement souring above the accompaniment, and especially the bass groove. Lyrically, it falls into one of my favorite categories of praise, -exaltation of God's essence. This song is not about what God does for us; it is all about us praising God. "The Lord reigns, let the people shout!" This song is a call for all of creation to worship God. "Let the heavens be glad, let the earth rejoice," "Let all the people sing of Your awesome power in all the earth." The lyrics also reference many passages of scripture, which can be hard to work with, as a linguistic flair that isn't common in regular modern speech. It is always hard as a poet or composer to align words and melodies in a formal way that still sounds natural.
