Underground is LIT! Harriet Tubman did not come to play -neither did any of the women on this show and I am all the way here for it! Seriously, where else will you find a standoff with axes and smack talk and a sewing circle of women with enough in their arsenal to start the Civil War? Where? I'll wait. Here are just a few thoughts (couldn't cover it all -wish I could!) SPOILERS: Let me know what you think of the question about John. The reason I ask is because the Justice he used as a reference in his case (who was largely responsible for the 3/5ths compromise) was appointed to the United States first Supreme Court. He was appointed by slave owning George Washington, he helped draft the U.S. constitution indicating that that the system wasn't built for everyone right? Remember also in Season 1 John used the Justice System in his favor in a way that brought harm on a slave to climb the latter as a lawyer. SO would running for office be the shake necessary? I don't know.. share your thoughts! Meanwhile: Noah fashioning a ring out of scrap metal while Rosalee was insisting to Harriet that Noah is her family? When they finally locked eyes? Doesn't get better. Also there were some great works referenced this episode in the scene where the women of the sewing circle were discussing impactful abolitionist writing.
