Vix in Japan's video: How to get good at Pixel Art using one fact of life

In this episode I share what I believe is the biggest secret to getting good at Pixel Art, and indeed anything in life and it's not a single piece of equipment or indeed technique but something all of us have if we put our minds to it: persistence. I give you some solid advice on how to start pixel art, what to use, and how to gradually build up your skills over weeks and months to becoming not just competent but in time, very fulfilled with the artwork you're creating. A graphics tablet, or super duper mouse, maybe even a pen screen from Wacom, etc. may all be things you may consider buying but actually there is something you need to do much more than buy stuff - and that's just sit down and keep working and working at something until it begins to bear fruit. Your first attempts will likely not be your best work, but they will lay the foundations for future improvements and learning as you learn how to develop your style as an artist. In this video I create a little character sprite from my manga (see below) called Saki, she's a skateboarder and for this I used my MacBook Air with FS UAE emulation for the Amiga (an old 80s/90s PC) and Deluxe Paint (legendary pixel art package) and my trackpad.
