Flying a tiny regional carrier in the Malaysian Peninsula, Firefly, between Kuala Lumpur's Subang and Penang Island. Firefly have amazed me a lot on this flight! Subang is Kuala Lumpur's secondary airport, only catering to regional flights within the peninsula. This airport is the hub of the regional carrier Firefly, a subsidy of Malaysia Airlines, which operates with turboprop aircraft. Flight time was a quick 1 hr with actual flying time being the same. Scheduled time of departure was 06:50 am in the morning, with scheduled time of arrival being 07:50 am, local time. My seat for this flight was 12A, which I'd bought online earlier. The aircraft for this flight was an ATR 72-500, 9M-FYF. This has been an amazing flight with this small carrier. The seat was great to sit in with ample legroom. The crew were great on this flight, friendly and helpful all around. For example, I'd wanted to buy a lanyard on this flight, but they'd ran out of it. The crew member shown in the video, not only gave a heartfelt and sincere apology, but also went on to suggest buying the lanyard on my return flight or at the Firefly office in Penang. Now that's customer service! It is amazing that Firefly serve food and drinks on a 1hr flight. And it is equally amazing that they actually have a choice to pick from! The food quality was top notch and well deserving of praise. The IFE was just the mag, which is honestly enough for a 1 hr flight. But, it might get boring if it's dark outside. Also, the airfare was an unbelievable 950INR on this route, which was cheaper than full on LCCs even. Seat 9/10 IFE 6/10 Meal 9.5/10 Crew 9.5/10 Overall experience rating : 8.5/10 I am blown away by the level of service a small and unknown carrier like Firefly offers. I highly recommend flying this carrier intramalaysia if you get the chance. And no, no matter how I wish, Firefly have not paid me to make this video. My honest and considered opinion is showcased in it. Finally, my condolences to the relatives of the passengers on Malaysia Airlines MH370. Let us hope for their safe return. Thanks for watching!
