Todd Switzer's video: Toyota 4x4 Pickup to Flatbed Camper Conversion - Part 6

@Toyota 4x4 Pickup to Flatbed Camper Conversion - Part 6
The layout and design of the flatbed. Cutting and welding steel for the bed and several storage boxes both above and below the flatbed. I purchased steel to make 4 boxes but ended up leaving one box out of the original design and using that steel for running boards. The total weight of steel added with the flatbed and boxes at this point is 420 pounds. With the additional aluminum diamond plate and other sheet metals the total added weight should be about 550 pounds. This would be a net of approximately 150 pounds as the original bed was removed, along with the rack, canopy and top board system. The exhaust system is replaced with a Borla muffler (part no. BOR-40664) and stainless steel pipe. The existing 40 series Flow Master is removed along with most of the aluminized steel exhaust pipe and the cat. These are replaced with 2.25" stainless steel pipe and a 15 degree mandrel bend going to a stainless steel Borla muffler. The previous exhaust system had a choke point at the cat of 1.75" so opening it up to 2.25" should increase torque and fuel efficiency by a noticeable amount. The new steel is primed with Rust-o-leum clean metal primer (white) and the older metals is treated with Ospho rust treatment and/or primed with rusty metal primer (brown). Later the entire metal structure will be painted with gloss black.
