उत्तरकाशी जिले में तिलोथ गाँव के निवासी दो भाई नरू और बिजोला की ये कहानी लगभग 15वीं शताब्दी की है। उन्होंने अपने प्रेम की खातिर कुछ ऐसा काम किया की आज दोनों भाई प्रेम करने वालों के लिए एक मिसाल बन गए। एक बार दोनों भाई माघ के मेले जिसे बड़ाहट कहते हैं, में घूमने आये। यहाँ दोनों की मुलाकात एक सुन्दर युवती से हुई। वह इतनी सुन्दर थी की दोनों भाइयों को एक ही लड़की से प्यार हो गया और दोनों उसे अपना दिल दे बैठे। उसके बाद एक पूरी लोकगाथा इन दो भाईयो से जुड़ी है इसी पर आधारित है ये उतराखंड का लोकगीत
