Someone asked me last week about how to raise capital for your first business venture It’s a great question and one I get asked very often I’m a first time entrepreneur, I’ve got an idea, I know I can make it work but I need funding In this situation the fact of the matter is you don’t have a track record so the first place you’re going to have to start is with the people who know you most and trust you... I.e. your inner circle, your friends and family Once you’ve proven your model and have a base case then you can approach other entrepreneurs and investors who can take your company to the next level But initial start up capital you’re going to have to convince your friends and family... and if you can’t convince them then believe me you won’t be able to convince anyone else
