@Will Former Michigan quarterback Shane Morris succeed at Central Michigan?
Redemption the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt. For former Michigan quarterback Shane Morris, he’s in search of a fresh prospective, start and a new lease on life. The highly recruited and decorated product out of Warren DeLaSalle High is ready to hit the reset button in Mount Pleasant Michigan at Central Michigan. As he gives one last shot to his dream of being a starting quarterback in college football and chasing his dream at the next level. “I look at it as a last chance,” Morris said, adding there’s the bonus of starting a master’s program in business. “It’s kind of like my last shot at hopefully playing in the NFL. Kind of all-in for that right now. It’s my dream. I’m lucky enough to get another opportunity, really. Lucky that Central took a chance on me.” Morris also knows his career at the collegiate level hasn't turned out the way he once hoped for the local kid who dreamed about starting under the center for the Maze and Blue. However, overcoming adversity only happens if you’re willing to embrace the here and now and learn from and not dwelling on your past. For Morris, he views the situation with this view. “My college career didn’t go very well so far so they really didn’t know what they were getting,” he said. “Obviously, I did well in high school, but they don’t know, you know what I mean? Shane Morris comes to Central with the pedigree of having been at Michigan and going through a tremendous amount of adversity while in Ann Arbor, with that said, how do you think his experience at Michigan will help him as he transfers into at life at CMU? Can Morris redefine his legacy? Can he be a successful comeback story? Nate Schneider is a Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun writer for CMU football, he joined 2Man Advantage Podcasts Kevin McShan on Monday, to discuss Morris’s future at CMU and his chances of playing at the next level.
