Backpacking With Woodglue's video: Holy Fire Backpacking Before and After

For those who know that we were in the region of this month’s Holy Fire, all is well with the Woodglue camp. I thank you for all your prayers and notes of concern! Backpacking in these mountains will be impacted for years to come. This Backpacking trip took us from Lake Elsinore, Ca. up the mountain to El Cariso Village to bring Bigfoot and I right into the 23,000-acre Holy Fire aftermath. With the contrast of past backpacking trips in these very mountains, it ever more apparent how this Arson-Started fire will impact enjoyment in these mountains. I try to keep my videos a little more upbeat that this, but it’s difficult when you see these sights. I concluded that this ‘a necessary part of nature’…. While I kept in the edit, I would feel better about that statement if the Holy Fire was initiated by a lightning strike or something. No matter what, this is a tough pill to swallow when you consider all the future experiences lost. This trip was 5.85 Miles total, out and back; over 1250 feet of climbing and decent!
