On day 2 of 'The Great Britain XI' tour of the country, from Scarborough to Edinburgh, SR Rebuilt Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 no 35018 British India Line brought the train from York to Carlisle via the Settle to Carlisle line. At Carlisle 35018 was replaced by LMS Jubilee Class 6P 4-6-2 nos 45690 Leander and 45699 Galatea, and continued north to Edinburgh. The train is seen passing Selside, just south of Ribblehead, then the loco changeover at Carlisle.
