It’s hard to compare two weight-classes, two divisions that are separated by far more in the way of variables than most people realise. Heavyweights for example, deal with a greater level of risk - due to the sheer force of the punches and kicks being thrown. They also allow for an extended shelf-life - allowing guys in their 40s to compete successfully to a much greater extent, whereas in a division where speed is paramount like flyweight, a 35-year-old’s diminishing speed might make them more of a liability - in contrast to their younger counterparts. But flyweights and heavyweights are far from the most well-represented size for an adult man - meaning that if you were looking for the best of the best, the true cream of the crop - statistically speaking, you should look somewhere in the middle divisions - featherweight, lightweight, even welterweight.
