ManWithNoExpression's video: The Beatles - Twist And Shout - Full Band Cover - Guitar Cover

@The Beatles - Twist And Shout - Full Band Cover - Guitar Cover
The last song of 10 recorded at the Beatles’ infamous Please Please Me recording session on 11 February 1963, Twist And Shout was released on their deubt album Please Please Me on 22 March 1963, and was released again as a single in America on 2 March 1964, reaching No. 2 on 4 April (right below Can’t Buy Me Love), while the Beatles held the top 5 spots. Twist And Shout would be the only cover the Beatles released which sold a million copies. John tore apart his throat on this song after already singing for 12 hours that day and simultaneously having a cold, not fully recovering for some time. He gave it his all on this first take, then attempting a unsuccessful second take, “but John’s voice had gone” (George Martin) Somewhat surprisingly, Twist And Shout was recording on John and George’s 1962 Gibson J-160E acoustic guitars played through Vox amps, and not on electric. John just plays the simple D G A7 chords progression (and I’m not using barre chords except on the buildup and ending parts of the song because this is how John plays on the Royal Variety Performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohql4weWrqk on 4 November 1963. (I’m essentially playing the same as mattiboo’s video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa7v6aWpwQ0 except I haven’t seen any videos where John plays the A during the buildup as the regular A shape rather than a barre chord how I did it, and at the same point in the song he occasionally plays an A6 by holding down the second fret on the high e string, which I don’t hear well enough in the song to include it.) For George’s part, I’m playing it like George plays in that Royal Variety Performance (which is basically what Beatles Guitar Secrets plays in his video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61xAwWTu0SU , except when he plays the A shape rather than the barre chord, which George doesn’t do live. This is easily seen on the Ed Sullivan show performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-VAxGJdJeQ ) For Paul’s part, I’ve found a tab which seems to be very accurate to the recording, which is especially useful, since there is a lot or variation in the way Paul plays throughout the song. https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the_beatles/twist_and_shout_bass_576749 For Ringo’s drums (which took the longest to learn and record out of everything) I used Brad Brunsdon’s drum cover (who I believe has played in a Beatles Tribute band, though I’m not sure which) https://vimeo.com/151712316 and I think he has an extremely accurate cover, even down to Ringo’s mannerisms while playing. I panned the drums all the way to the right, George's guitar halfway to the left, John's guitar halfway to the right, and the bass slightly to the left. The current request list is as follows: The Hollies - Crusader The Beatles - She Said She Said The Hollies – I Can’t Let Go The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night The Zombies – She Does Everything For Me The Zombies – You Make Me Feel Good The Hollies – I’m Alive The Beatles – What You’re Doing The Rolling Stones - The Last Time The Hollies - You Must Believe Me The Hollies - King Midas In Reverse The Beatles – The Night Before Feel free to comment your song requests, and to ask any questions you have about chords or notes. Thanks for watching!
