🙏 Jai bhole ki 🙏 An easy but long trek from base village Tupewadi. Located about 240 kms from Mumbai. Wai town is about 10 kms away. Time required to reach the summit is about 3 hours. Two hours into the trek and you reach the Gorakshnath temple. A well constructed temple with a room on the left hand side which can accommodate 8-10 trekkers. An open air Panch Mukhi Shivling is present in the temple complex. As per locals, this Shivling was found while digging during the construction of the temple. A 20 min walk from here and you reach the only source of water on this trek. Full forest cover. Another 20 min easy climb and you reach a plateau. This is where Shanker and his family live.Farming and paddy fields and milk from cattle are the source of income. They also prepare food for trekkers if informed in advance. A 15 minute climb from here and you reach a steel ladder located in between two huge rocks. On climbing this ladder you reach the summit of Kamalgad fort. A very small area on top.An open air Shivling exists on the fort. The flagpost on the centre of the fort is surrounded with colourful flowers. The main attraction of Kamalgad is the tunnel dug out on the top. About 6 feet wide with steps carved out, you descend down about 75 feet with the support of a steel wire attached to the left side wall. A flat patch exists at the base of the tunnel. Water is also there but it is not fit for drinking. Rectangular holes are carved out on the top allowing light and air to enter. Two caves are present on the left and right side at the base. The plant and flower growth in this area is unique. The steps are also slippery. Take care. The entire fort can be covered in 20 minutes. Descending from the top to the base village is very easy. Coming down at an easy pace will take about two hours. A very nice and easy trek.🙏 Jai bhole ki 🙏
