Vix in Japan's video: Ranking the Commodore Amiga models Worst to Best - The 12 Days of Amigas - Part 11 Amiga 500

@Ranking the Commodore Amiga models Worst to Best - The 12 Days of Amigas - Part 11 Amiga 500
Well we're almost down to the last machine but this episode deals with what I consider to be the second best Amiga Commodore made, and it's a big one, it's the Amiga 500, oof. Refining and scaling down the 1985 Amiga 1000, the 500 was the best selling Amiga model by far and for many years certainly in Europe and other regions was considered one of the best platforms for gaming and home creativity and productivity. With its 1985 tech, it held its own against the incoming Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo, well at least initially. Beloved by many, the Amiga 500 could be considered one of the last of the truly great all in one home computer wedge style systems, it had a great run between 1987 and 1991 when it was replaced by the mildly refreshed Amiga 500 Plus in late 1991. In this episode I explain why I consider the A500 to be one of the best options for those who want a real Amiga at an affordable price that is compatible with most Amiga games, and reasonably priced Amiga in 2023. *The ranking system:* All of this is my own opinion and therefore prejudices but I've tried to be fair; but I'm sure you will disagree with me sometimes. However I try not to do abject hatchet jobs and also consider what the machine was at the time of release, and what I think of it now, along with whether I'd buy one or recommend you buy one. I am giving more weight towards whether I'd recommend buying one now, as opposed to what it was at the time, but some of Commodore's decisions were so boneheaded, lackluster or slow to come to fruition they weigh in the ranking as well. *Sources:* Amiga 500 Image (Video and Thumbnail): Bill Bertram (Wikipedia - Creative Commons License) Amiga 570 Image: Commodore press photo.
