SOUNZ Centre for NZ Music's video: NEW NEW ZEALAND MUSIC FOR JAPAN - trailer

@NEW NEW ZEALAND MUSIC FOR JAPAN - trailer
Adapting to the travel restrictions of the pandemic, Dylan Lardelli has curated a series of new works by New Zealand composers for performance by Japanese musicians. The new works, by Dylan himself, Chris Gendall, Helen Bowater, Marcus Jackson, David Chisholm, and young Otago composers Ihlara McIndoe and Nathaniel Otley, were filmed at Ebila Hall in Tokyo less than two weeks ago. The musicians were Tosiya Suzuki (recorders), Yoshie Ueno (flute), Mayumi Miyata (sho) and Nanae Yoshimura (koto), with whom Dylan has collaborated extensively previously. In the following two days we will bring you these performances as Resound films, lovingly shot in Japan and sent through the wires for editing at SOUNZ. This project is financially supported by the New Zealand Japan Exchange Programme (NZJEP). Editing funded by NZ On Air. Further information about the composer biographies associated with these films can be discovered at https://www.sounz.org.nz/ Explore our extensive catalogue of scores, CDs, books and resource library at https://www.sounz.org.nz/info-for/sounz-collection-library Connect with on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SOUNZnz/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/SOUNZnz Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sounz_nz/
