Sunny Garewal's video: 2019 KTM Duke 790: What We Know and What To Expect Coming To India

@2019 KTM Duke 790: What We Know and What To Expect! (Coming To India)
(Best Twin Cylinder?) KTM, a renowned Austrian bike manufacturer, has all set his mind to launch the middle-weight category bike ‘Duke 790’ in India. The Duke 790 is agile, light and nimble with minimal body panels and comes with state of the art electronics. This Duke is company’s first parallel twin-bike and is previously known to produce only single and V-twin bikes. However, it does not look as edgy as the prototype, but is indeed very close. The Scalpel is well positioned and fills the gap between Duke 690 and 1290 Super Duke R. KTM India has a very limited model range and to make his name as a premium performance motorcycle manufacturer had to launch some of its bigger bikes to compete with Kawasaki, Triumph, Ducati and BMW Motorrad. Currently this street weapon is manufactured in Mattighofen, Austria. But as confirmed by Hubert Trukenpolz that the Duke 790 will be brought to India via a CKD route in late 2019 and to be manufactured in Bajaj Chakan plant near Pune. However, there is no confirmation about the KTM Duke 790 adventure R being similarly brought to India. Considering KTM’s aggressive pricing strategy the bike could be priced between Rs. 6-6.5 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The Duke 790 comes with all-new state-of-the-art chassis with bolt-on aluminium sub frame and LC8c engine where ‘c’ stands for compact. The new Duke also comes loaded with accessories and KTM power parts. The DOHC 8-valve liquid-cooled compact engine has its crankpins offset by 75 degrees as supposed to more common 180 degree setup. The 799cc 4-stroke parallel-twin engine produces 105Bhp@9,000 rpm and 87Nm torque at 8,000rpm with an 88mm bore and 67.5mm stroke. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The power of 790 Duke is lower than its Japanese and British competitors but has a healthy power-to-weight ratio of 0.61Bhp per kg. The all-new bike is loaded with features like CroMo power coated steel frame, multicolour TFT dashboard with ambient light, wide 760mm aluminium handlebar, LED headlight & Taillight, Stainless steel upswept exhaust, Quickshifter, lean sensitive motorcycle traction control system, Cornering ABS with Bosh 9MP ABS, PASC Clutch, Ride-by-wire, die-cast open lattice swingarm and Three riding modes: Street, Rain and track. This dominate street weapon also gets 17inch alloys with Maxxis Supermaxx ST soft compound tyres for excellent grip and the braking part is done by front dual 300mm petal disc with four-piston radial fixed caliper and rear 240mm petal disc with single-piston floating caliper. The front suspension is 43mm WP upside-down fork with 140mm of travel and rear suspension is WP monoshock with preload adjuster and 150mm of travel. The dry weight is of 169Kg while the wet weight is of 189Kg. The seat height is of 825mm and has a ground clearance of 186mm with 14 liters fuel tank. This aggressive streetfighter is available in two colours: Black and Orange. The main rivals includes Yamaha MT-09, Kawasaki Z900, Benelli TNT 600i, Ducati Monster 797 and Triumph Street Triple R and RS. So, what are your views on this bike? Will you buy this bike when it’s available on Indian roads? Do share your opinions on the comment section below.
