Fishaholic's video: DIY Filter Aquarium Make Aquarium Filter At Home

@DIY Filter Aquarium | Make Aquarium Filter At Home
After watching DIY Filter Aquarium video you will learn how to build an aquarium filter at home using a plastic container, vinyl tubing and aquarium submersible pump. It is like a canister filter with DIY inlet and outlet tube and completely water sealed so there is no risk of leaking. DIY filter aquarium was built in few hours, however, adequate amount of time was given for silicone to be fully cured before testing it on my No filter betta aquarium. A plastic food container is used to build this diy aquarium filter. Clear vinyl tubing 10 mm is used for water flow from fish tank to filter and filter to fish tank. Elbow connectors are used to build home made inlet and outlet tubes. A vinyl joiner for 10 mm vinyl tubing is used as main source of connection. Submersible aquarium pump is connected to the inside of the diy filter and wire is run through the lid. I have joined the wires following safe basic technique. Coarse foam and fine foam has been used as mechanical filter media and Zeolite bio media is used to grow beneficial bacteria colonies. Zeolite: It has a large surface area with good adsorption, ion exchange capacity and chemical stability. Zeolite is a kind of volcanic eruption crystal which not only can remove turbidity but can also help in removing smell of the water. It is widely used in water filtration and plays an important role in controlling heavy metals in water such as chrome, cadmium, nickel, zinc etc., Material Used In DIY Filter Aquarium: Plastic Food Container Clear Vinyl tubing Vinyl Joiner Elbow Connectors Zeolite Bio Media Coarse and Fine Foam Submersible Pump Initially, the filter will only pick up pieces of debris and feces in the tank. But over time it will start building beneficial bacteria colonies. However, by adding beneficial bacteria this process can be speed up. You will also notice some air bubbles pushed out in the tank, after running the aquarium filter for few minutes, air bubbles will disappear. With adjustable powerhead, you can change the speed around to determine the optimum water flow speed. It is highly recommended to regularly check your aquarium filter to make sure that it is working fine without any leakages.
