David Soriano's video: Lead Battery Aluminum Sulfate EDTA Electrolyte

@Lead Battery /Aluminum Sulfate/ EDTA Electrolyte
Brief video captured with my cell phone. A more extensive video will be uploaded shortly. I have a lead battery which was filled with aq. aluminum sulfate ( not 'alum') 15% (m/v/) in water along with 1% di-sodium salt of EDTA chelating agent. Aq. acid was never used in this commercial 6V motorcycle battery. I filled it about 1.5 years ago. I topped off the cells with water and the open voltage was 3.9V. I re-charged at 6.0V for one hour. It had an open voltage of 5.25V ( it will never reach 6.1V with these conditions) . It held the potential overnight . I am running the small toy car motor /wheels as a simple mechanical load. Once it drops in voltage, I will run it down to 0.5V with a small 6V lantern light bulb. Electric loads will be used for charge/discharge cycles in the near future. I am interested in developing so-called 'traction' duo-lead and lead/zinc batteries with deep- discharge. my website: www.batteryscience.us Aluminum cations are complexed by EDTA at temperatures much highter than 25 deg C. Lead ions are easily complexed. Sulfation may be minimized at deep-discharge with this electrolyte composition.I will upload a better quality video soon. You may want to try this cell and let me know of your findings!
