Immerse yourself in nature at this Palestinian tree house cafe With a tree-house exterior and walls designed to resemble branches, this Palestinian cafe hopes to surround its customers with the feel of nature as tourism in the city has become limited by the coronavirus pandemic and Israeli restrictions in the West bank city of Nablus. Famous for its use of wooden benches and soft earthy tones, the cafe is designed for visitors to unwind with calm, nature-like surroundings and has become known for its tasty coffee and traditional Middle Eastern cuisine. It also doubles up as an alternative for Palestinians who are not allowed to visit nature resorts due to Israeli restrictions in the West Bank. After its capture by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war, the West Bank has been home to Israeli military bases and checkpoints that restrict Palestinian movement. The treehouse cafe was built in 2020 as the world's economy took a dive due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The pandemic and prolonged lockdowns in the West Bank have led to a severe economic fallout and owner Ahmad Akoob said he's using the cafe as part of an advertising campaign to attract tourists to the city.
