MissEleanorVane's video: Eleanor Guthrie Better Than That

@Eleanor Guthrie || Better Than That
And here is my first video made entirely on Sony Vegas eh eh !! I have to admit, it was hard, I didn't really want to make an entire video on Vegas already but it turns out that my app have serious bugs and the creators of the app doesn't seems to know how fix that so I decided to finally start to edit entirely on Vegas... and in the end, despite the fact that there have been many times when I sincerely hated Vegas (and there will surely be others as well), I am very happy because I am proud of the result of this, very proud, and that finally editing completely on computer opens up some really exciting new doors that I can't wait to explore. However, this is still my first video made on a new program, so the editing is simple, it will take me a little while before making big effects lol. Finally, the video itself now. I have known and loved this song for a long time, but I rediscovered it thanks to this wonderful video on Lucy Wells (Harlots) made by ardentlyjane which you can find here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kywdzH-Rzt4&t=32s and I loved this video so much that I wanted to edit this song too, and my dear Eleanor immediately came to my mind. Basically, this song is supposed to be about the somewhat whimsical sex life of a young girl who seems to be judged because of it (from what I understand). I interpret the song here very differently. The big message of this video is to show that no, Eleanor is no more guilty or innocent than all of the other characters in Nassau, "you're not to blame, you're just got caught in a game", and I think the hatred that her character suffered was disgusting and unfair from the fans who just didn't bother trying to understand her, "I've got no right to be mad", but this video also means that even if I think that the writing of Eleanor in seasons 3 and 4 is not bad, on the contrary, I think that it's very good on a poetic level - this writing made of Eleanor a tragic character who destroyed herself - but if this writing is not bad... it may not have been the best. After season 2, there were a lot of fate possibilities for Eleanor, and if the choice who make Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine for her is not bad, I can not help thinking that there were these other possibilities for her future, and they may not have chosen the best of them, even if they didn't take the worst either, far from it. But who knows what would have happened to Eleanor if they had exploited these other possibilities? If she had never joined the English, if she had never killed Charles, if she had never been married to Rogers? Well, for me, she could have done "better than that" in this case. It turned too on a video very focused on all her relationships with Max, Charles and Rogers. Here is it, I hope that this first video made on Vegas will please you (appreciate the visual quality please lol), the challenge for the next video will be to do better! XD and no, the videos on Black Sails are not going to stop yet, my inspiration for is still strong and it doesn't seem to calm down lol. Fandom : Eleanor Guthrie, Black Sails. Song : "Better Than That" by Marina and the Diamonds. Program : Sony Vegas 14. Coloring : KuningannaSansa (shared privately).
