Violet Deliriums's video: Wesley Willis Fiasco - Jesus Is the Answer guitar cover

@Wesley Willis Fiasco - "Jesus Is the Answer" (guitar cover)
This is my cover of the Wesley Willis Fiasco's song "Jesus is the Answer" (1992). If you don't know who Wesley Willis was, you should search YouTube for a documentary about him. He was an artist and rock star who lived in Chicago and played either solo (on the keyboards and singing) or as lead vocalist with his alternative rock band in the 1990s. Although he was underground, he did make it onto MTV at one point. Wesley was a schizophrenic. When it acted up, he called it a "hellride" and believed that demons were calling him an asshole. He thought that the only way to fight them was to swear back at them, so he had a foul mouth. But, despite his illness, Wesley made a lot of friends and touched his audience. He had a permanent mark on his forehead because he would gently headbutt his fans as a sign of affection. Wesley Willis shows us that just because someone has schizophrenia does not mean that we should isolate them or fear them. His songs have a basic lyrical formula. The title of the song is generally the chorus lyrics, which he repeats at a higher pitch and volume than he sings in the verse. At the end, always says, "Rock over London. Rock on Chicago." And then quotes a commercial. By doing so, he shows us how weird our normal everyday lives are because we just let stupid ads fly by without much thought. In other words, what Wesley Willis did with his music and persona was break down the invisible barriers we like to keep between "sane" and "insane" in two ways. First, he shows us how insane the normal world is, and second, he became loved by his fans despite his problems. FULL LENGTH DOCUMENTARIES: 1. I played it on my Fender Violet Deliriums ESM Signature Model Blacktop HH Jaguar (ESM = Explosive Space Modulator) which has Seymour Duncan SH-1 pickups, a killswitch, and some neato stickers on the pickguard. I ran it through my 1970s Silverface Twin Reverb with various effects. To create the sound, I used an MXR Custom Comp (all controls at 12 o'clock) and a Line 6 DM4 distortion (alternating between "Line 6 Distortion" and "Boost Comp" patches, with the drive cranked on both). I clicked on the Line 6 DL4 ("Delay w/Mod" patch) during lead licks after the first chorus. To record it, I played the MP3 with my Mac on Itunes, and recorded it using the Mac's PhotoBooth program which puts it in mirror image (sorry). I used a Samson CO1U microphone with USB connection into my Mac. I cannot understand all the lyrics, so please help me if you can! :) This is the song that I'm going to wrap up with. It's called "Jesus is the Answer."...He is the savior. He died so you'll go to heaven. I gonna wrap up this right now and Jesus is the answer. I tell you about the time when Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. I was very grateful to hear about that stuff. Take it to me. It will make the...Tell all to god. Tell all to god, with your might. I'm saying this again to let you know. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Tell it like it is Jack. It was surreal to be...I couldn't say...I have to...Need a change. I'm saying this again to let you know. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Tell it like it is Jack....What's that sound Jack? It will sound good to you like it will sound good to me. Make us...and I will make 'em well for the knell. I'm saying this again to let you know. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. I let you know. Yeah. Jesus is the answer. Ah.... Jesus is the answer... Rock over London. Rock on Chicago. Mitsubishi. The word is getting around!
