5 most common mistakes to avoid while video advertising

Videos have been one of the key marketing tools to attract a lot of consumers and investors. With time, video advertising has been convenient and efficient for the consumers and also provides marketers with an attractive and more versatile medium to reach the viewers. But all too often, marketers or companies often make videos that do not engage their audiences or make them want to know about their product and brand, thus are not able to attract a major group of consumers and fail to increase their revenue Some of these common mistakes are listed below.

1.Lack of good content and script:

Out of the major mistakes that we often see, companies are creating content or script that they think their viewers or customers need rather than what they want. Lack of good content has been the biggest reason that many advertisements do not get a fair bit of viewers and thus do not attract consumers. Companies should take care of the trends and their customers' wants and needs for what they are actually retrieving for and strategically make videos taking into account their needs. This will give the video content the best opportunity to show up in search results on platforms such as Google or Youtube.

2. Long length videos :

One of the big mistakes that people or marketers make is creating videos that are too long. This is often seen in the first part of the advertisement starting with the vague introduction, nice- looking footage but lacking the actual content. It does not matter how, but if you fail to get users to watch past those first few seconds no one will want to see the video further. Many marketing videos are seen on platforms where they prefer watching videos while their system muted. This means you need to grab attention without relying on audio and make your visual content eye-catching and more appealing.

3. To achieve too many goals in less time:

The best way to achieve good results with your marketing effort is to produce each content strategically to accomplish a target. For instance, people should make a video for the advertisement to target a specific part of a community be it the adults or the children and providing it with the second video targeting some other group. One should not rely on a specific video to target many goals at a time. These mistakes are especially seen in many marketing videos, crafting a video without having any specific goal in mind. Typically, a video should have some goals to achieve such as increasing sales, building more customers, attracting new groups of the community and increasing the revenue of the company.

4. Giving less value to the customer's emotions:

Videos are one of the most powerful marketing tools used in businesses, but often marketers do not value the emotions of their viewers and jump to the end too quickly. Getting your customers to invest emotionally rather than investing financially can lead to a long term benefit. People should try to tie up multiple videos together with a thread that can create a buzz among the customers about the brand. This shall create an attachment with the brand and customers and they will like to invest more and more. As time goes on, creating threads between the videos, sharing a story of the creation of the product, linking it with people's emotions will increase their viewership demand and ultimately increase their revenue.

5. Setting up wrong tones :

Knowing about the brand value and the product which companies are providing is important for implanting good content for your videos. From good content to customers' likings to the background music and lighting, all elements impact how the viewers will feel after watching the advertisement. For example, if a product is a child-friendly commodity, make sure that the video content should be according to the likings and disliking of children’s, be it the music, voiceover, directions, lighting. If the content does not match with the overall brands' product, it can confuse your viewers and decline your market consumption.
